伦敦票据交换所银行同业制度系统(CLEAringHouseofAutomatedPaymentSystem，CHAPS)成立于1984年，是世界上最大的清算系统之一。

位列美国Fedwire之后，居于世界第二位。它是银行间即日电子支付系统，与英格兰银行合作提供收付和清算服务。

ACHAPStransferISInitiatedbythesendertomovemoneytotherecipient'saCCOunt(atanotherbankinginstitution)wherethefundsneedtobeavailable(cleared)thesameworkingday.Unlikewithabankgirocredit,noPReprintedslipsPECIFyingtherecipient'sdetailsisrequired.Unlikecheques,thefundstransferISPerformedinreal-tIMeremovingthEISsueoffloatorthepotentialforpaymentstobepurposefullystoppedbythesender,orreturnedduetoinsuffICIentfunds,evenaftertheyappeartohavearrivedinthedestinationaccount.

CHAPSisusedby19settlementbanksincludingtheBankofEnglandandover400submemberfinanCIAlinstitutions.Initsfirstyearofoperation,averagedailytransactionsnumbered7,000withavalueof5BIllionpoundssterling.In2004,twentyyearslater,averagedailytransactionsnumbered130,000withavalueof300billionpoundssterling.

CHAPStransfersarerelativelyexpensive,withbankstypicallychargingaSMUchas￡30foratransfer.ThecostofFASttransfersandtheslowspeedoffreetransfers(suchasBACS)issometimeSASubjeCTOFCOntroversyintheUK,althoughlowvaluetransactionsarenowavailablefromCHAPSfromitsFAStERPaymentsService
